Hamish and Clayton do us proud in ICAS assessments International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is a suite of online competitions made by UNSW Global. Students with the top score in each subject in each year level are awarded a medal and a medal winner’s certificate. Hamish Tweeddale, now in Year 7, got the top score in the Year 6 science competition in 2021 and Clayton Huang, now in Year 5, was the best in English. The medals and certificates were presented early in 2022. Hamish’s mother Sabine and father Geoff paid tribute to the Wyvern teachers for their encouragement of Hamish and his classmates. ‘I’m sure that having wonderfully enthusiastic and caring teachers contributed to his success,’ Sabine said. ‘Geoff and I have been extremely impressed with all the dedication everyone has shown at Wyvern, despite COVID-related challenges.’ Image from top: Hamish Tweeddale aced the science assessment; Clayton Huang received the top mark in the English assessment. 38 | Curiosity |News Autumn 2022 | Wyvern House
