Dear Club Member, The Estate report card for Vintage 2019 has been written (turn the page to reveal!) and although yields were down on previous years, particularly for our Whites, the quality trade-off is there. This would seem to be the case across other regions as well with most reports I have seen at this stage having yields down. In the Barossa, some are saying the vintage is the lowest in a decade and could be down by as much as 50% from last year, and Clare Valley is down by 30% to 40% on some varieties. Margaret River is talking reductions in the area of 15% to 20% with some isolated instances of 70% and Great Southern around 40% lower. The story is better in Rutherglen with only slgtyower than average yields, and Canberra is average and above. However, a consistent across all, as with our Estate, is the very good to exceptional fruit quality. The anticipation rises for 2019 releases to hit and my advice would be buy early or risk missing out! Cheers, John Purbrick 3rd Generation JUNE| JULY2019
