After the conference, Michael visited Charterhouse School and Eton College in the UK where he spent a few days at each learning about their approaches to the International Baccalaureate (IB), English curriculum and reading programs. He observed numerous lessons, met curriculum decision makers and their respective heads of inclusion and diversity and spent time in their libraries. As well as visiting schools, Michael met with Dr Clementine Beauvais from the University of York. She is an academic and Senior Lecturer of literature and education who has written and spoken on reading culture. She is also a writer of children’s books. Finally, Michael spent two days working with the Royal ShakespeareMichael visited the Globe Theatre during his research trip.
