A: Back in 2015, the head of Champagne Krug, Oliver Krug came to visit me in South Australia. Whilst Iarranged a beautiful degustation lunch at Orana Restaurant, a masterclass with East End Cellars and a decadent dinner at Penfolds Magill Estate, I couldn’t help but show Olivier a rather ‘agricultural’ tradition (let’s call it a ‘Bucket List’ experience) where the Exeter Hotel pours $300 bottles of Krug Grande Cuvee into beer glasses rather than Champagne tulips or Wine glasses. I’m proudly the first person to serve a member of the Krug family one of their Champagnes in a schooner. Q: Where do you want to be in five years? A: On my 160 foot yacht drinking Champagne.
