In addition the contractor will organise the collection of hazardous materials from small businesses and the agricultural sector. This service is subject to a user pays charge where appropriate. Council also provide a kerbside refuse collection service to the communities in Blenheim and the Picton area. These collection routes can account for up to 4,000 tonnes of waste input into the regional landfill site. An outline of the Regional Waste Process is shown in Appendix 2. 4.1.2 Diverted materials The diversion of materials is supported by a Resource Recovery Centre, (RRC), Reuse Centre (RUC), Salvage Yard and Ewaste Collection Facility (ECF) in Blenheim. In addition the seven RTS based in Blenheim, Havelock, Picton, Rai Valley, Seddon, Wairau Valley and Ward all provide recycling services to the community. Council provide a kerbside recycling collection service to the communities in Blenheim and the Picton area. This service will divert over 1,300 tonnes of recycling (cardboard, paper, glossies, glass, plastics (1-7)) per year. A breakdown of this tonnage is shown in the following table.
