Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre |Annual Report 2017–18 CASE STUDY CANCER SURVIVORSHIP FOR Launched PRIMARY CARE PRACTITIONERS Accessible online learning in cancer survivorship July 2018 As Australians age and more people live beyond their cancer diagnosis, cancer survivorship is increasing. A mapping and consultation process led by Professor Jon Emery as Online Participants VCCC Research & Education Lead — Primary Care, identified a key gapin educational programming for primary care practitioners in cancersurvivorship. 500 To address this growing need, the VCCC partnered with the Victorian Government and the University of Melbourne to develop a new, open Attended workshops access Cancer Survivorship for Primary Care Practitioners Massive Open 40+ Online Course (MOOC). Course content applies both a medical and psychosocial lens to the topics: •Survivorship Fundamentals •Communication and Coordination of Care Next intake •Supportive Care, Palliative Care •• SurveillanceLate and Long-Term Effects and New Cancer Therapies Oct 2018 Real patient narratives feature in the interactive course. Face to face workshops complement the learning from the online course utilising case scenarios, small group discussion, video and peer review. The program is accredited through The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), Australian College of Nursing (ACN), Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) and Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
