Separate maintenance budgets will need to be provided for off-road cycleways. The Ben Morven cycleway is only constructed to a formed dirt standard with a light gravel running course of no residual value. The other cycleways are constructed with a small chip seal surface. 1.6.9.6 Cost / Financial / FWP Capital annual budgets are currently around $100,000 per annum. Likely future projects already identified are the cycle links between Blenheim and Spring Creek and Blenheim and Renwick. On road cycle routes within Blenheim have been completed. 1.6.9.7 Cycleway Issues/Risks Key issues/risks relating to cycleways are: Changing cycling and walking from recreational activities to viable transport modes; The removal of on-street parking to provide on-road cycle lanes. 1.6.9.8 Disposal Plan There are not anticipated to be any disposal of cycleway assets during the life of this AMP. 30 September 2014 Page 103 of Section 1
