Marlborough District Council Roading Assets - Activity Management Plan 2015 - 2018 SECTION 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Smooth Travel Exposure Figure 6.1.3.2c Figure 6.1.3.2c shows the level of STE over the last 10years. The current percentage of travel on smooth roads is 94% for rural roads and 86% for urban roads. This indicator is currently used as a level of service performance measure, the target STE for rural roads is ≥84% and urban roads ≥92%. 1.6.1.3.3 RAMM Condition Rating The other key indicator of pavement condition is the development of pavement defects such as rutting, shoving, pot holes etc. and associated pavement repair costs. These defects are measured during the annual ‘RAMM’ condition rating. The following figure shows the results of the previous year’s condition rating. Condition Rating 2003 to 2014 Figure 6.1.3.3a The rating results are showing a gradual deterioration of the network condition indicators which translates to a lower level of service. From 2008 the bi-annual survey protocol has been implemented as detailed in this and the previous AMP. 1.6.1.3.4 Condition Index (CI) 30 September 2014 Page 34 of Section 1
