Marlborough District Council Roading Assets - Activity Management Plan 2015 - 2018 SECTION 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Bridges, footbridges, wharves and jetties are all structurally assessed every two and a half years from a qualified bridge assessor with a detailed structural assessment every six years from a structural Engineer. Identified high risk structures are inspected annually. All results including condition assessments and photographs are recorded and kept in the bridge inventory. A complete footpath condition assessment was completed in 2011 with the inventory updated and a five tier (1 excellent, 3 fair, 5 failing) condition rating assessed. Following the development of a structured forward works renewal programme as discussed in Section 6.9, Footpaths. Council is continually identifying and updating the drainage culvert asset inventory. A programme of condition assessments has also been completed in conjunction with that survey. The current maintenance contract regime requires the contractor to monitor and record the status of all drainage structures on an annual basis. By maintaining this programme Council has a very good condition monitoring system in place. Kerb and Channel can be assessed for condition in conjunction with the urban sealed pavement condition rating surveys. A programme for assessing the condition of kerb and channel should be completed on a three yearly basis. 30 September 2014 Page 177 of Section 1
