Marlborough District Council Roading Assets - Activity Management Plan 2015 - 2018 SECTION 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1.11.5.1 Decline in Service Potential (Depreciation) The measure of decline in service potential (DISP) is depreciation. The service potential of transportation and roading assets is restored mainly by renewal works; therefore it is useful to compare levels of renewal expenditure and depreciation levels. Figure 11.3 shows the projected decline in service potential (annual depreciation) and the renewal expenditure, over the next 10 years for the all the asset groups together. Based on the projected renewal expenditure this AMP the difference between the DISP and renewals is consistent and although not desirable it will generally maintain the asset at the current level of service over the next 10 year period.
