Marlborough District Council Roading Assets - Activity Management Plan 2015 - 2018 SECTION 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1.6.12.7 Street Light Issues and Risks The street lighting asset is at most risk from changes in national legislation on energy usage. Any legislative change requiring a downward adjustment in energy use over a short implementation period would require renewal expenditure in excess of the current level. This risk is assessed as low and as it would impact on street light owners nationally it is probable that special funding would be made available from Government. The installation of inappropriate or non-standard lamp and pole types in new subdivisions pose some risk to future management of the asset. Council needs to continue a close liaison with Marlborough Lines in order to maintain the current discipline within the asset types. 1.6.12.8 Disposal Plan Disposal is any of the activities associated with disposal of a decommissioned asset, including sale, demolition or relocation. During the life of this AMP there is no anticipation for disposal of any part of the streetlight asset. 30 September 2014 Page 117 of Section 1
